Elisha

Of Hebrew origin.

Elisha is an Old Testament male name, sometimes borrowed for girls.

A contracted form of “Elishu’a”, that means “my God is salvation”.

Elisha is a prophet in the Hebrew Bible, the Quran and Baha’i writings.

He was a disciple of Elijah and after he was taken up into the whirlwind, Elisha was accepted as the leader of the sons of the prophets.
