Matthew

Derives from the Greek name “Ματθαίος”, Matthaios, which is the Greek form of the Hebrew name “Mattityahu”.

It means “gift of Yahweh”.

Saint Matthew was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus.

According to Christian tradition, Matthew was one of the four evangelists, the one who wrote the first Gospel in the New Testament.
